"The smaller the government, the freer the people"

Elect Marc Doney For Okanogan County Commissioner
District 1 - Republican

"I WOULD BE HONORED TO BE YOUR VOICE IN OKANOGAN COUNTY"

Meet Marc
Marc has shared the last 34 years of his life with his wife Leanne, is a Marine Corps Veteran, Father of two, Grandfather of three, a Small Business Owner, and A Local Pastor who is passionate about seeing Okanogan County and all of its Residents enjoy the full extent of all the Freedoms, "...endowed by their Creator," and the United States Constitution.

Marc's deep seated desire to preserve individual liberty, our Constitutional rights, and to positively impact the lives of the Citizens of this County have compelled him to seek public office and strive for the kinds of changes so desperately needed and asked for, for far too long by the people of Okanogan County.
LEADERSHIP
  • I will recognize that the time for Politics as Usual to end is NOW.
  • I will stand firm in my opposition to any and all policies having a negative impact to our freedoms, livelihood, and conservative values
  • I will fight for the right of the Citizens of this County to always be the Primary Stakeholders in their children's education, NOT the "Nanny State"
INTEGRITY
  •  I will be transparent and honest with the Citizens I represent & serve at all times, and demand all County Government to do the same.
  •  I will not participate in "back door deals" or shady political mediations that are self-serving and only have the will of Government in mind instead of the will of my Constituents.
  • I will lead by example and hold our elected officials accountable to their Oath of Office
PUBLIC SERVANT
  • I will take my Oath of Office seriously and operate with the understanding that the legitimate power of Government begins and ends with the Consent of the Governed.
  •  I will strengthen this County's resolve to provide its Citizens the rights and practices that best suit their ability to live free, raise their families, retain private property rights,  and keep as much of their hard earned dollars as possible in their own pockets.
  • I will remember that those holding Public Office are nothing more than Public Servants who are appointed to serve at the will of the People and not their own interests.
Biography
Marc was raised in a low income, impoverished home and experienced many years of food stamps and government assistance with two brothers in rural Snohomish County. Marc learned very early on the value of hard work and personal responsibility and believes that consistency and an unwavering work ethic will always trump excuses, government handouts, and a victim mentality. Marc believed that no job was beneath him and spent his early teenage and high school years picking cucumbers & berries, working on a chicken farm, cleaning park trails with the Forest Service, digging ditches for irrigation systems, working sun up to sun down on a dairy farm, and numerous other manual labor jobs that teach the value of a hard earned dollar.

After graduating high school as an honor student with a 3.8 GPA Marc continued to work for a small Landscape Company and got married to his now wife of 34 years at the age of 18. Marc then joined the Marine Corps for six years and served as an Infantry Squad Leader and CQB Team Member & Instructor before separating from service with an honorable discharge. Marc received numerous citations and awards while on active duty and also became a certified HRST Master, Weapons & Tactics Instructor, and made several deployments overseas including being a part of the 1stBN, 7th Marines, Charley Company unit that took part in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. During his time in the Corps he and his wife, Leanne also had two children (one Son and one Daughter) and Leanne showed incredible resiliency and fortitude as a veritable “single mother” while Marc spent a total of 4 years and 4 months separated from them over the course of his six year enlistment.

After returning to civilian life Marc returned to the Trades working as a Drywaller, Framer, and Landscaper and eventually opened his own General Contracting company. After several years of running his small business Marc moved his family to Central WA around 2003 and ended up spending approximately seven years in Law Enforcement finishing that career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. While in Law Enforcement Marc earned numerous awards and served as the Class President at the Academy, became a certified Firearms Instructor, a Defensive Tactics Instructor, and was assigned to a special Traffic Enforcement Unit.

Marc then opened his own company and became a Private Defense Investigator for a little over seven years out of the city of Wenatchee. During this time he and his family ended up moving to the City of Omak in 2013 and he began to also pastor a small church at the north end of town called River of Life, and has continued to do so since.

After spending many years conducting investigatory work for criminal and civil cases, and being exposed to far too many sexual assault cases, Marc decided to cease work within the Jurisprudence System altogether and he reopened a General Contracting business (Ambiance Construction) that is still in operation to the present day.

In March of 2024 Marc also took on a position with the City of Omak working directly in partnership with Omak P.D. on a new Volunteer based Crime Prevention Program known as Team O.N.E. (Omak Neighborhood Engagement).

Marc and his wife have spent the last 21 years in Central WA with the last 11 years of that time being right here in the Okanogan Valley and the City of Omak. During those 11 years Marc and Leanne have made some of the most meaningful and impactful friendships they have ever had and the Valley has become home. Marc cares deeply about his community and the Citizens who reside in it and through his efforts, in collaboration with the efforts of many others within their Church Family and other local residents, they have actively sought to improve the lives of others by: providing temporary housing for the homeless through the devastating fires of the 2014/2015 fire seasons and beyond, providing Pantry items and food to low income families, providing Christmas gifts to low income children, donating hundreds of labor hours to local projects like the Homeless Shelters in Okanogan, and being an active participant in other Community projects and fundraisers like CareNet, Operation Christmas Child, and families in need.

Marc believes that he is not alone in his desire to pursue a position of Leadership because there are Leaders and unsung heroes all throughout Society like: Teachers, Coaches, Parents, and yes even Public Servants who all believe (as he does) that they need to do their part to make our families, communities, neighborhoods, and County a better place for everyone to thrive and flourish in.

Marc feels compelled to run for Public Office because he refuses to stand by and watch our State continue to go down the road of ruin from governmental deficiency, Unconstitutional overreach, excessive taxation, and the continual erosion of our God given rights to individual freedom, personal liberty, and private property.

Marc believes that change is still possible and he is willing to fight for it on behalf of his constituents and is asking for your Vote both on August 6th and November 6th to become the next District #1 County Commissioner. If so appointed at the will of the People, Marc will never forget that he is nothing more and nothing less than a Public Servant who acts as a voice for those he serves and he will always examine all official County business through a singular litmus test: “Is this action or decision actually good for the People of Okanogan County?”

Vote Marc Doney for County Commissioner, and let him get to work for YOU!
"The smaller the Government the Freer the People"
As Your County Commissioner I will strive to enact the will of the People over Partisan Politics and self serving Bureaucracy.
